Send pupils home with online safety activities
Hello,
We know that schools are facing significant challenges at the moment. As you prepare to send pupils home, you may be thinking about the tasks and activities they can take with them.
As a valued part of Google’s Be Internet Legends community, you have access to loads of fantastic resources. They’re all designed to help children explore the internet safely and confidently – and many of them are perfect for continuing learning at home.
To save you a bit of time, Google and Parent Zone have put together a ‘Legendary Learner Pack’ that you can email directly to families – or print and hand out to pupils. It’s totally up to you.
The pack includes:
• A letter for parents and carers, explaining what they can do to support their child’s learning at home.
• A series of fun, interactive activities for families based on the Be Internet Legends code – including links to Interland, an exciting online game.
• Expert guidance for parents and carers from Parent Zone about having the difficult coronavirus conversation with their child.
We hope this makes your life a bit easier at this tricky time. We’ll be creating more content in the coming weeks to help your school communities stay connected, occupied and safe – and if you have any questions, feel free to contact us on legends@parentzone.org.uk.
Lastly – you can find extra advice and support for educators from Google at g.co/teachfromhome.
We wish you well at this difficult time,
The Be Internet Legends team
